Assigning a contract is like double-endorsing a check. You never close, but rather let someone else close in your place. “Flipping contracts” is another expression for the same thing.

Is there a difference between flipping contracts and assigning contracts? And do you need title insurance for either (or ‘it’ if it’s the same thing).
