I just went through Lonnie’s audio cassette series and I’ve read most of “Deels on Wheels”. He mentioned that the laws that apply to mobile home sales vary from state to state. I am in Zephyrhills, FL. Where do I go to find out about the laws in my area? I need to know if I need a dealer’s liscence, what sales tax is required on a MH sale, and a few other things. Can I get all of this information at the county courthouse? If so, what offices should I contact? I also wanted to know if I should buy and sell under the name of a company, or if it’s alright to start out doing deals as an individual.

Hi Chad,

How about talking to dealers or park managers. Be upfront, and explain what you are after. Several will not take any time with you, but I bet some will.

As Chuck said, there is probably a mh association in Florida. They can be an excellent source of info for ya.

Besides that, this site is a great resource. Read everything you can get your hands on.

I wish you nothing but the best. Keep us updated on your success.

Not sure what state you’re in but in NY we have the
New York Manufactured Home Association. They told
me what I needed to know to work these deals in
New York State. Check www.nymha.org
