You don?t mention what state you live in.
In most cases you can contact a title company and they can comp out the
property for you, as well as tell you what liens that are presently on the
property. Another place you can obtain this information is at the county
recorder.

In most cases if you are going to be financing this property,
which I?m sure you will. You can contact the lender or mortgage
company that you plan to finance with, and ask them to obtain this
information for you as a courtesy.

I have found a house that my wife and I would like to make our primary residence. It appears to be a bank owned property.

Does anyone know how I can find out how much the bank has invested in this property to see how low I might be able to make my first offer?

my state has a file at the courthouse. get the names. go ask the clerk. get the file number, read the file.
