I have 2 lots side by side. One lot has a house on it that also has a mortgage attached to it, the other lot is land only that I own outright. I would like to combine the 2 lots into one and have no idea how. I was told by the courthouse that I would have to have a real estate lawyer combine them. Is this true? I’m almost certain there is away to do this w/o involving lawyers. What would be the fallback of combining the two?
