The only way you should be calculating yield is with a financial calculator that has TVM (time value of money) keys, or using a TVM spreadsheet. There are basic courses to help explain the necessary steps, including complicated cash-flows, such as wraps. Basically, you plug-in the variables you know, and the calculator solves for the missing variable.
