I have just sold a rehabbed house to an FHA buyer. The inspection surprised us when the buyers requested that we have a new roof put on. I would like to ask the buyer’s to split the cost of a new roof with us. But our attorney says that we cannot have any “under the table agreements” with an FHA sale and that we would have to rewrite the contract. Has anybody run into this situation recently? If so, how have you handled it? Thanks.
