you may need to add some duct work. In older homes usually the return ducts on the second floor are undersized for AC. In the past year I installed central air in two properties and the price ranged from $500 to $3,000.

How much should it cost to add ac to a 2 story 2000sf house that is already ducted with a gas furnace? We are in Olympia Wa. It is not that hot here but things are not selling as fast as usual. Having ac seems to be a godd selling point when very few houses in the area have it.

Have never done AC seperately. I’ve installed HVAC completely including duct work and it ran about
$ 1000/per ton for everything. If you have 8’ ceilings you figure about 1 ton for every 600-700 sqf
