Your contractor should carry general liability insurance. He might also be required to carry worker’s comp.

I recently purchased a property that I plan to sell. It needs a total rehab. What type insurance do I need on the property while it is being rehabbed?
This is my first rehab property.

Rob is right about getting builder’s risk insurance, but you might also need a separate general liability policy.

I was going to post a similiar question today. I have a rehabber who wants to do some work on my house but he doesn’t have insurance so I told him NO. I was wondering what and how much insurance should a rehabber I hire have.
