But the same can be said for the person who sold them to you as well. It does not mean that the properties they find are actually owned by the individual. They’d have to back track the current owner, the land trust, to see who owns that or the mortgage since it would not have been cleared.
You can put them in a land trust after they were in your name, but once they are recorded in your name they can do a diligent search and find that they were in your name at one time.
