Local civil court rules vary drastically from state to state, so I cannot answer the Q for IL. Some states do allow an officer in landlord tenant court to act for the corp.

Either way, I would encourage you to use a lawyer in L&T proceedings. They are very easy to mess up, and L&T attys are very cheap. You make more money staying out of the courtroom anyway.

Soon I am going to start flipping properties or maybe renting some out and was planning to do it as a Corporation. I heard from a friend that if I incorporate I will need a lawyer to represent me whenever I have to go to the courthouse. Even if it is to evict someone.

Bassicaly I am asking whether or not i will be allowed to represent my own corporation in court or if I will have to have a lawyer for everything. If it matters I am in Illinois.
