Lien recorded in wrong county - Posted by Henry

I have a question about a HELOC that I took out on a property in ‘County A’ a couple of years ago. I live in ‘County B’ and my bank is in ‘County B’. I recently went to the county offices in ‘B’ and discovered the bank recorded the HELOC in ‘B’ instead of ‘A’. I went to ‘A’ and they have no lien listed on my property.
Is this something I should correct? Does it matter? Not that I would, but if I took out another loan on my property in ‘A’, would that loan take first place over the HELOC?
Thanks

Yes, you are correct, a new lien would be ahead of them. Of course, the new lender would notice the debt on your credit report and ask you about it.
I would do nothing - if anything, the mess up inures to your benefit.
And, you’re suppose to ask, “what’s a henway?” And I say, “about 10 pounds”

HELOC? What’s a HELOC? Is that like a “henway”?
