Jeff,
We are moving back to Idaho soon, and we are thinking of buying some property and building a log home. What are some pitfalls we should watch out for? Also, are they costly to keep up?
Thanks for the advice!
…Marcy

Has anyone here ever done anything with log homes?

An interesting and VERY INFORMATIVE newsletter on Log Homes can be obtained for free from a company called TimberTech. The newsletter goes into handcrafted vs. milled, air dried and green vs. kiln dried, connection methods, corner styles, wood species and more. TimberTech can be reached at 208-664-4976 or their address is 213 W. Appleway, su 1A, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho 83814. The guy’s name is Dick Cook and he is a Master Log Home Builder for whatever that is worth.

Shawn,
I’ve built and appraised log homes and admired them for years. What specifically are you looking for, I might be able to provide some information for you.

Jeff
