MH corporation or LLC?? - Posted by Shelly

I am starting to invest in MH. After studing and feeling ready to go search for my first deal, would it be advisable to form a corp or an LLC for tax purposes and to limit personal liability? Has anyone doing MH deals formed a corp to keep personal taxes separate or do you do business in your name even if you have a dealer’s license? Or do you just DBA and pay the taxes on your personal return? Any responses would be appreciated.

First things first. Scratch doing business as a DBA off the list. As far as LLC, S Corps, C Corps, LP’s, etc… it depends. Only you know what your plan is is and your structure will depend on your strategy.
I personally prefer C Corps and LP’s because that’s what I feel comfortable with, but it all depends on your plan.

Hey, David – what would be the best calculator for figuring out my yields on these kind of deals?
