Notarize documents with Out of State Seller? - Posted by Jay (WA)

Greetings,

I’m writing up a deal with out of state seller, some of the documents require a notary. Questions:

  1. Can the documents be notarized by a notary in the sellers state? Wouldn’t seem so.
  2. If not, how to go about getting these documents properly notarized??

Thanks,

Jay

Jay:
Unless your property sellers are going to FLY (risky these days some folks say) to where your and the property are located you can simply have them execute the needed documents in front a notary in the State and County where they are located. Its called a “mail away” in Title company jargon…

I often have used the Sellers bank and a staff notary to faciliate this…
