I know from dealing with my father’s estate that it was rather painful to get letters addressed directly to him. I don’t think you’ld want to ailienate the survivors. It would probably be better to address the PR, or if there’s just one survivor (ie. widow) directly to that person.

Once when I published a college newsletter, I got a rather snotty letter from an alumus’s widow because he was still on the mailing list. basically, “I can’t come to homecoming because I’m dead”.

My letters of addressed to the deceased. I haven’t snag one up yet. I am going to play with it a little bit more before I move on to another source.
