Did you put your name or company name? It’s odd not to use a company name that’s likey why they didn’t feel comfortable even with ATR. And not everyone has the scanned in signatures so they decided to be cautious vs facing some lawsuite later.
My suggestion, use a company name.

OK, I have forms to the 1st and the 2nd of a preFC; the 2nd wrote to one of the spouses saying that although they had received a payoff request form from “a lady named…” that they felt more “comfortable” sending it to the owner.
Form was signed by both spouses with SSN’s.
Any thoughts? Do they HAVE to talk to me? or is that only with a POA?
I did eventually get the bank letters from the sellers directly.
