It sounds like you need to pick up a good lease option course that covers “sandwich leases.” I have Bill Bronchick’s Lease Option course and it has been wonderful for me.

I have the opportunity to help a family out on a rent to own. If I want to aquire the property, rent it out, while keeping the mortgage under the current families name should I tell them my plan or should I tell them that I want to rent it directly from them and then rent it out after the fact? Furthermore, does anyone have a sample “rent-to-own” contract that I can draw on while writing mine up? Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Tyana

you don’t necessarily need to let them know you are going to re rent it as long as it is permitted in your contract, I wouldn’t try to hide it, but if it doesn’t come up, don’t worry about it. Also, if you are going to rent to own it out to someone else, you must have the option to buy in your contract
