I have no opinion on the basic question. But understand this: if the place is to be a vacation rental, you can expect management fees of 25-35%. If the idea is to lease it on a year lease, your fees will be a lot less.

I sometimes wonder if say investing in a property for Rental in places like Aruba, Cayman Island, etc etc… is better or a local one in near or around your own community. I have read a lot on this but still feel the cost of purchasing one say like Aruba is incredibly beyond most median income wage earners to get but the profits might be good even if it was not rented out during low or off season as the high price would offset the months it is not rented out. Any one own or know of such and would like to share this and shed some light ?
