North of SLC are some still growing communities. There is also Hill Air Force Base which gives a constant group of military people looking for good rental homes for their families.

Check out areas like Clinton or Roy about a half hour north of SLC on I-15.

You can see what’s available in those areas on realtor.com

We are considering looking in the Salt Lake City area for rental properties. Prices in our area are too high to make rentals cash flow. Husband does business in SLC area so we could keep an eye on things. Any thoughts on areas to steer clear of? Areas that would be good, solid locations. What size/ammenities is/are popular? For example, in our area 3/2 are more popular than 4/2. $900-$1050 rents are very active, below $850 too much available, above $1100 too few tenants. Thanks in advance. Everyone on this site is unbelievable. When I feel frustrated, I just log on and get re-adujsted!

You may want to check the message board at
www.sdcia.com. There are several SLC investors
posting on the board.
