What is the use of the proposed building? Retail obviously at ground level, but then office or residential (condo’s) on the upper floors? If the answer is condo’s, it may be a good thing in terms of comps, but then again it also adds competition to the market if you plan to resell. Sounds like you still have the 2 most important views, I don’t see it as a bad thing. The land between you and the harbor, is it common ground or does this development open the possibilty of another developer coming in and using this building as precident, and eventually blocking your view all together?

I am curious to know how tall buildings impact the value of real estate in a city. I have the opportunity to purchase a luxury condo at the Baltimore Inner Harbor at a discount for my personal use. A proposed building 59+ stories is due to be built next door and would block some of the Northern views but not the harbor (east) or stadium (west) views. The building is to be the tallest in Baltimore and bring high end shops to the area. What impact would this building have on surrounding values even though it might obstruct some views.
