Smart Trust Deed Investing in California Book - Posted by Steve

Scott,

I have both and some other materials.

Paper Into Gold - I have been through the tapes a number of times. Lots of innovative ideas.

Unity of Paper - A comprehensive manual. I have used specific sections and have not read all of the manual from cover to cover. I recently committed to do so as I am sure there will be more ideas that I find helpful.

There are a few articles on this site in addition to the cash flow forum where I have picked up ideas or been reminded of things that I first saw somewhere else.

If you pick up either of the two courses post your impressions after reading the material. Others would be interested.

Why would this softcover book that was written back in the 1990s be worth over $200 ?

Maybe it is and maybe it is not worth the money as a book.

If it helps you make 10x what the book costs they should you send in more to the author? What is the value of the book then.

Like real estate many different values are possible and even then prices might not match values.

Are you thinking about investing in notes or making private loans?

There is a manual on this site that costs a bit more but the material applies across the US.

George Coats’ book is the only one of it’s kind. It’s the only book on
the topic that I know of written for lay people. And it’s specifc to
California. I highly recommend reading it. I didn’t buy a copy, but
read one from the library. However, the library had to order from
another library system because the two they owned had been stolen/
missing…

Just because people are paing $200 doesn’t mean it’s worth that much
to you. For the seller doing an occasional seller carryback the book
may not be so important. That being said, those are the sellers who
probably need to understand foreclosure the most.

If you are considering trust deed lending or note-buying, I recommend
finding a copy. Kristine

Hi John,

Are you refering to the “Unity of Paper” or “Paper Into Gold”? If you have read the Unity of Paper, would you recommend it for private lenders/note buyers?

Thanks, Scott
