Strict Florida State Requirements? - Posted by Grant

As a newbie I was excited when I found this program and even went out to scour the parks in my area. I found a couple of potential deals but when I looked up the requirements for dealing in mobile homes in Florida I was rather disappointed. Am I reading this correctly? If you buy, sell or even offer for sale more than one mobile home in a 12 month period, you must be licensed. And you can’t even set up your own mobile home with an installer’s license.

The Law

Florida law states that any person, firm partnership or corporation that buys, sells, offers for sale, displays for sale or deals in one or more mobile homes in any 12-month period is presumed to be a mobile home dealer and must have an appropriate license issued by the State.

Can a consumer set up their own mobile/manufactured home or park trailer?

No, Rule 15C-2.0073 (1), Florida Administrative Code, requires that individuals must be licensed in accordance with Florida Statute to perform an installation of a home

Can someone please tell me how I can proceed? Thanks!
