you can bring the property up for sale at a tax deed auction. Then it is high bidder takes all. A lawyer is definitely not needed. Pennies on the dollar does not always mean what John Beck would hope you to believe.

I have a tax lien certificate on a Florida property that has not been redeemed. It has been 2 years & I was wondering what is the next step I need to take. There is a lot of info about bidding on tax lien certificates, but I haven’t been able to find info on what steps to take if the tax lien is not redeemed. I understand that after 2 years I can submit a tax deed application…but not sure how to go about this. I was wondering what costs are involved, if I’ll need a lawyer…I would like to purchase the property for pennys on the dollar as I’ve seen advertised, but being a novice, I’m not sure how to go about this & what the pitfalls may be. Please advise. Thanks
