I just put two new toilets in a house I’m doing. I bought the cheapest ones that Lowes had to offer. About $40 as I recall and you have to buy the seat seperately (another $5 for the cheapest seat). They look nice and work well, which is all that matters to me.

Okay, for you guys that are keeping homes long-term, what toilets are you buying?

I have Lowes and HD in my area.

Any brands/models to stay away from?

When I have to replace one I’ve used the “Toilet in a box” from Home depot. Looks good and it’s cheap, like $50ish here.

If my buyer wants a different seat then they can replace the one on the I buy.

The Elger Patriot is a good one. I have seen others recommend it also.

I usually shop at Menards and they have a product called Toilet-in-a-Box. Yeah, it sounds funny, but it was very cheap and included everything…the bowl, tank, innards, seat, bolts and even a wax ring. I have put in three of these now and never had an issue with them.

A couple of weeks back, I noticed a Sink-in-a-Box and gave it a try. Same great value and it worked great!
