Also in the Army. You can use VA guarantee to get loans on multi-family. I think 4-plex is the limit though, so your plan should work well. Your problem may be qualifying for a loan when you know you will be getting out of the Army (no longer have the stable income) unless you already have a job lined up.

I met you at last year’s conference and I just want to say it was a pleasure…and here is my question…
I will be separating from the Army as a Captain in April and I will have my VA Certificate. I have heard from other folks, that it is possible to purchase up to a 4 unit building with your VA Certificate. Is this true, and if so is the VA even the best loan to use for this. My plans are to live in one unit, and rent out the other 3. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
