I vote for New Orleans, again. It’s in the south and I need an excuse to go. One question, when is hurricane season?

Dear Friends,

I can’t answer all the email I’m getting! We don’t know where
it will be yet. Come on, guys, we just got back home yesterday…

But here’s what I’ve been thinking…let me know what you think.

How about this: I will pick 5 or 6 different cities as
possibilities, and YOU get to vote on your choice. Sound
like a good idea?

I haven’t been to one yet. I really regretted missing this one also however, I will make it next year. Hilton Head South Carolina sounds good but the cruise idea sounds even better.

Just be sure and consult with me before you schedule the dates. I have missed two Conventions and Ed and Terry’s seminar in St. Loius due to military commitments…this has to stop,

Oh by the way, I am not home yet, still out of town and I finally got access to the web, I’ll be home Tuesday.

Sounds like I missed another good one!

You know an awful lot of us really enjoyed those Hooter wings. It would be nice if this is considered for the next convention.

Somewhere that is a hub. like Atlanta.(the only one I can think of) Somewhere where you can get a non-stop flight in. Delays going in and out this time were bad, flights delayed and stuck in Atlanta. It was so bad, I wish I had driven to Dallas from NC, like Patricia did.

Keep it in a reasonable hotel. The Marriott was OK, but
please don’t have it at an Adams Mark. The services are just not as good; one feels stranded.

If it’s after tax season, you can have it on Mars and I’ll be there. Heard it was a great one. I’m jealous;-)

How about sunny Phoenix, AZ?

No snow, temperatures in the 70`s, golf, swimming, beautiful desert sunsets!

What more could you ask for?

Just my 2 Yen.

I agree with everyone else . Where You and Terry are is where we want to be. Of course Ive heard good things about Hilton Head South Carolina.
Would be really happy if you all came down to Houston.
But where ever it is , we Will be there.

I haven’t made one yet, but I hope to …

While it isn’t central and it’s been done, you really can’t beat Las Vegas for number of flights, other stuff to do and sheer cheapness of travel and accomodations (when booked as a group) … the only kicker is that the Thursday-Sunday timeframe is usually the high tourist/gambler periods so you’re less likely to get room breaks than if you did a Monday through Thursday … but that would probably effect attendance for many.

Like many have said, if I can make it schedule wise, I really don’t care where it is.

It’s probably redundant at this point to mention that it’s well worth the cost of a plane ticket to go to the next convention, regardless of the location and price: Zimbabwe or Bosnia would work for me.

(And note that my plane ticket from Los Angeles to Dallas was more than my flight to New York and only $120 less than my flight to Edinburgh, SCOTLAND last year!)

However, for decadent reasons, I vote for New Orleans.

'nuff said.

You build it, we will come! - Posted by Jim IL

It does not matter where or when. You know that! This was a life changing experience, and we ALL felt the magic.
So J.P., Where ever you and Terry decide is GREAT, because you know we’ll all show.
But, if you really want input, I say, come to my town!
If you do, I’ll let many people stay at my house!! For the simple price of splitting a deal when they arrive.
We can all take on my town and paint it green. LOL!
Just kidding,
Thanks again for the GREAT convention!
Jim IL

P.S. Although, for kicks, we do have a rather large casino in town.

It doesn’t really matter if it is in a warm or cold city since we are inside for three days and nights. Hopefully it won’t be in a city where snow could close the airport. Texas is pretty central for everybody…maybe San Antonio or Houston. Orlando might work but is a long haul for the west coast people. I’ll go anywhere. This year’s was fantastic.

Sounds good BUT … - Posted by Redline

Posted by Redline on March 10, 1999 at 12:38:09:

Let’s avoid the obvious (i.e. Chicago, Minnesota, etc) as we all know they’re usually under 10 feet of snow this time of year.

Also we could make sure whatever location doesn’t count on these locations to get there. Some cities just don’t have many direct flights. A wrong layover could kill everything.

I like that idea very much. I like Art’s suggestions, and I would add that it be later in the spring and in a warmer climate (sorry ski fans). Suggested cities would include New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Raleigh, Charlotte, or somewhere else in the Southeast.

Would like to see it in a area accessable to the majority of the people. Serviced by major airlines where those just starting out would not have to spend a lot of money trying to reach. Just an idea. Thanks, Art
